I used to use one of those online spam filter services where you change your MX records in your domain’s email setup, but I’d prefer to use. It’s quick and easy to control SpamSieve from within Apple Mail, Airmail, Entourage, MailMate, Mailsmith, Outlook, Postbox 5, PowerMail, and more. Using a text editor (TextEdit, TextWrangler, BB Edit,…) open the ist at ~/Library/Mail/Bundles (Disabled)/SpamSieve.mailbundle/Contents or I have got to make sure my wonderful SpamSieve is running properly & on all 8 cylinders ‘cause I get about 250 or so crapmails every single day & I’ve got SpamSieve trained at about 99.5 accuracy. SpamSieve learns and adapts to your mail, so it’s able to block nearly all the junkwithout putting good messages in the spam mailbox. ![]() (or maybe Bundles (Disabled)1 or Bundles (Disabled)2, …) only spam, all good messages are remaining in the inbox. If Mail announced that the SpamSieve Plugin does not work with Mail, it will move the SpamSieve.mailbundle to from the ~/Library/Mail/Bundles folder to the ~/Library/Mail/Bundles (Disabled) folder. With Spamsieve enabled I get the following messages when starting Mail: After dismissing them Mail does launch and items are being move the the SpamSieve Spam folder as expected, i.e.If it seems like SpamSieve is ignoring the blacklist, that probably means that SpamSieve isn’t seeing your incoming messages at all and that you should check the setup. It is normal for Apple Mail to show messages about junk mail. However, I think it would probably be a good idea to add these emails to SpamSieve’s corpus, then move them to the trash. However, SpamSieve ever since the update ignores the blocklist. In the past, I’ve written a rule in Apple Mail to immediately move such emails to the trash. Procedure: Warning: This procedure worked for me but I might have mistyped or inadvertently omitted something, so use with care. 1 Certain types of email I receive are guaranteed spam. Unfortunately, it’s not compatible with Mac and mobile. It can even deal with spammers if you’re using free mailing services like Yahoo or Gmail. It works the best for desktop mail programs like Outlook, and it deserves the top place on our list. Question: Does changing the plist in this manner cause any problems?
